The Bird

Yesterday, driving around, I got flipped off three times!

I admit I  have a tendency to honk when I feel someone is driving poorly.  I'm just letting them know -- hey you may want to improve your skills behind the wheel!

The first was someone who was a bit asleep when the light turned green, and I was behind them.  I assure you I gave them plenty of time!

The second and third were people driving recklessly, too fast, changing lanes in front of me, coming too close to my car for safety, in my view.  The third guy zoomed past me, then stopped in the right-hand lane at a stop light.  A little concerned about him, I slowed and stopped a few car lengths behind him, not excited about pulling up right next to him.  He shoved his arm out his driver side window and gave me a very energetic, enthusiastic Bird.  Then he turned right!  He actually stopped, just so he could flip me off!

Do you think it's the economy?

Hilarious. Even though I am a rare honker, I have been intending for a long while to make signs that I can flip at people while driving (the intellectual's bird). "Get off the phone!", "Slow down!" and "STOP at Stop signs!" Then, yesterday, in Urban Outfitters, I found that they actually sold a manufactured product with about 20 different signs intended just for this purpose. Including a big cutout of a hand giving the finger! I may need to fork over the $16 to get it. It was pretty awesome.

I want the signs! I often try and figure out what device I could install in the front of the car that would either shoot out something, or be a death ray, or whatever - today Harry and I were discussing the advantage of a small laser cutter that would instantly eradicate Bush/McCain/otherwise offensive bumper stickers from cars ahead.

The problem with reading backwards is that certain things don't make sense - for instance the "no gas" comment in the Thanksgiving post - I was puzzled, but then read further, and all was revealed - but not as much as your ceiling. Sorry to see/hear that - glad it's back together. Time for another realtor!
